Ottawa: Church Planting Congress

Last week I had the joy to attend the Church Planting Congress in Ottawa. I pray that the Lord will mobilize a people that will proclaim His Gospel to our nation! Here are some thoughts that I need to chew on:

Stetzer: Reminder to proclaim the Gospel - the cross where God's wrath was poured out upon His Son and the imputation of His righteousness to us (the unrighteous)! Thank you Ed for this timely and important reminder. Also, he challenged church planters to have realistic expectations - our sites should not be on the mega churches but on the reality that most church plants are about 40 in attendance after the first year.

Hirsch: Challenged us to not be so much "come and see" and more "go and tell". Our Christology should determine our mission; our mission should determine our ecclesiology.

Taillon: We should measure success not by our numbers but by how much we give ourselves away.
